Liwet - The angel of innovation and creativity. A fitting name for this creation. I made this sculpture in 2013. It was the first sculpture I had ever attempted to make.
Created out of salvaged copper gutter and penny coins. There are 46 feathers, 23 on each side. Each feather is 9 inches long. They were all hand cut, shaped, fold formed, and hammered texture applied. Shaped with small round pliers.
The bust is a paper mache bust that is covered in penny coins. A thin layer of copper metallic paint was applied and clear resin was added to seal it all tight.
This sculpture is over 4 ft wide. Hangs in my work shop to remind me daily of the amazing things I can create when I let fear go and just enjoy the process.
